What PriceZ App Was Facing
The founders believed independent retailers were losing revenue because they had no affordable way to track competitor pricing in real time. The assumption needed testing fast — a large competitor had just raised funding and the window to establish a foothold was narrow. They needed a working product in market before the competition caught up, not a lengthy agency discovery process.
The Solution
What We Built
We scoped a single focused question: can we get a retailer to pay for automated competitor price alerts within 8 weeks? We built a crawler-backed alerting system, a simple retailer dashboard, and a Stripe-connected subscription flow. We deliberately skipped the analytics suite, bulk import, and API integrations — those were hypotheses for later. The MVP answered one question cleanly.
