What TopGum Was Facing
TopGum was entering a market dominated by slow-moving incumbents and believed speed of order fulfilment was the wedge. The founders needed to prove the concept with real transactions before investing in the full marketplace build — integrations, inventory management, logistics APIs. The MVP had to generate real revenue, not just signups, or the model was unproven.
The Solution
What We Built
We built a focused transactional MVP: supplier catalogue, buyer order form, payment via Stripe, and a simple order tracking status page. No automated logistics, no supplier onboarding portal, no analytics. Orders were partially managed manually behind the scenes — a deliberate choice to test demand before automating supply. The system handled the money; the team handled the fulfilment.
